Venezuela
On the way from Miami to Caracas after I had been given customs and immigration forms for Venezuela, I asked the stewardess how I would transfer planes at Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetia Simon Bolivar to get to Quito. She informed me that I needed to go through immigration, claim my bag, and go through customs. After doing so, I was told that I shouldn't have done so, and now that i was officially in Venezuela I would have to pay a tax of 25 dollars and another of 52 dollars. After which, i had to go back though security, recheck my bags and wait 5 hours for my now very delayed flight. Also, my only contact in Quito, whose number I only had on my then-dead laptop had no idea that my flight was delayed, and also had to wait 5 hours for my arrival. After 25 hours of no sleep, I finally passed out at 3:30 last night. Hopefully this is not indicative of my trip's future.

Don't worry. I'm sure things will get better. Traveling is always a bitch. I'll try and hunt down that flight attendant (stewardess is a dated term) for you.
ReplyDeleteLove you.
